My grandparents left Ireland for the United States at the beginning of the 20th Century. At the beginning of the 21st, I returned to find a home in Dublin and affirmed all that binds me to NY.

Living the fantasy. Left all my legal papers behind and spent two weeks as an artist. Met up with the Dublin Urban Sketchers. Walked the streets sketchbook in hand. Worked in watercolor, sheltered inside, when it rained.

TRAINING INTO THE CITY

First time ever spending some time in Brooklyn. Visiting by the Green-Wood Cemetary. Walking the neighborhood found a quiet corner park and watched the gardeners. Contrasts from Hudson River to Harlem-125th Street to well-tended greenery. Love New York

Every morning in Dublin I get up and walk across the Liffey to St. Stephen's Green, around the perimeter twice and back. Need my steps.

This trip I ventured out of Dublin to Kilkenny Arts Festival and a mushroom foraging advanture. Bach and venison.

Got to the Airport 2 Hours Early

PEOPLE WATCHING IN MANHATTAN

Grand Central Main Concourse is a people watcher's paradise. Tourists and commuters intermingle under the signs of the Zodiac.

This day I had a couple of hours to kill before meeting my daughter for a play. Took the Shuttle to Times Square station and spent a half an hour there watching a master hustle by a large man, a "Christian" grandmother and three dogs.
